RS: I Haz Planz 03/09/15 & August Round Up

Better than last week. I’ll say that right now.

I almost feel human again. I say ‘almost’ because I’m having to get used to my standing desk all over again and, if I’m honest, it feels a little odd. Aaah well. I also went to the gym this morning and, apparently, exercise is good for you. Who knew? :p

Actions Last Week

little green tic~Format Kindle and Smashwords versions of ‘Second Base’
Sorted! At last! Took ages, but it’s done. *phew!*

~Make the list of all those who are to receive ARC copies of ‘Second Base’
Now that I’ve had a proper look at this target, I see that this is one of those instances in which Ileandra and I got a bit mixed up. o.O She’s the one with the ARC list, not me. There are folk I can send ARCs to (Advanced Reader Copies for those of you who aren’t sure) but I don’t have a list. So . . . if you think you might want one . . . let me know. 😉

~Continue writing ‘Slippers & Chains: Three’ (min 2,000 words)
Nope. And given what DSB had to say on Tuesday, I’m not sure that I’m going to either. I’ll give it another week and see what my heart says. It may be time to hand back to Ileandra regardless. *sigh* Aaah well.

August 2015 Round Up

~Complete beta edit of ‘Slippers & Chains: Second Base’
Sorted. Needed less work than I worried it might. That’s always a comfort!

~Format ‘Slippers & Chains: Second Base’ for paperback and ebook release
Done. All three vendors accounted for: CreateSpace, Kindle and Smashwords.

~Commission cover art for ‘Slippers & Chains: Second Base’
Nope. I’m still really reluctant to go to someone else. Maybe I’ll give Ravenink a couple more weeks? o.O

~Make list of who will receive ARC copies of ‘Slippers & Chains: Second Base’
Yeeeeah, see above. Though, to be honest, I can’t really send ARCs without the cover art anyway. 😦

Change That Shit Up!

checking off feedbackGiven DSB’s frame of mind right now, I’ve no idea how this is going to pan out. Regardless . . . let’s see where we stand. Completed tasks struck out, changes/clarifications in red and new tasks in green.

  1. Edit ‘Slippers & Chains: Second Base’ following comments from beta readers by the end of October (preferably by end of August).
  2. Draft ‘Slippers & Chains Three’ (and give it a damn title!) by end of November 2015 (during NaNoWriMo?)
  3. Publish ‘Slippers & Chains: Second Base’ by 21 November 2015

Yes . . . 21st November. Seems an odd date, kinda stuck at the end of the week, but it’s the sister’s birthday. I’ve always liked to use significant dates for releases.

Targets for September 2015

As ever, there really isn’t that much for me to do. Which is good . . . I suppose . . .

  1. Draft a 13,000 words of ‘Slippers & Chains: Three’

Activities For This Week

  1. Write 3,000 words of ‘Slippers & Chains: Three’ (that’s 500 words a day)

Thoughts . . .

checking off feedbackI think I’m falling down by trying to treat this project like others. Problem is, I don’t write like Ileandra. I can’t. She can spit 10,000 words on a good day left to her own devices: I can’t.

So if I treat ‘Slippers & Chains: Three’ as a little project on the side of whatever Ileandra is doing, there’s less pressure, which should free me up to just enjoy meeting this characters again.

I have a lot lined up for them—it’s going to be great getting back into their heads for the terrible problems I’m about to throw at them—so it should be fun. So long as I make efforts to keep it that way. 500 words a day should help.

About Raven ShadowHawk

I take great pleasure in writing erotica and am merely one side of the proverbial coin. My other half, 'Ileandra Young' writes fantasy and the occasional comedy piece.
