I’m bliiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiind! *runs about madly*
No, not really, but it feels that way. Sprog1 gave me his conjunctivitis and this week has been the toughest because every time I look at the screen my vision blurs. Hell, any time I look at anything my vision blurs. I’ve been far more comfortable this week with my eyes closed.
. . . And yet I’ve watched more Buffy and Angel than I have the entire month to date.
Hmm. Go figure.
Anyway . . . !
Actions Last Week
~Complete a further four chapters of US to UK English conversion on ‘Slippers & Chains: Sugar Dust’
Yep. Didn’t expect it to be done quite so easily, but I finished the whole thing. Once I realised what the key culprits were, ‘find/replace’ became my new best buddy. Then it was simply a case of smoothing out wrinkles. Tell you what though; I found three glaring typos in the manuscript that made me just want to hang my head and sob. I mean . . . the book was for sale. Then again . . . mixing up ‘compliment’ and ‘complement’ is easily done if not paying attention. It did make me a bit slower on the read-through though, which can only be a good thing!
~Send x3 review requests for ‘MEO:TFS’
Yep. All sent. Dunno if I’ll get responses for them or even if the messages will be opened, but I won’t know unless I keep putting the work out there. Someone will bite soon, right?
Activities For This Week
- Send x3 review requests for ‘MEO:TFS’
- Format Sugar Dust for paperback release
I got a response from one of my beta readers for ‘Second Base’ at the beginning of the week. She had some great comments to make and picked up some important errors, so it will be fun to go through and sort those out when the time comes. It’s also important, methinks to start worrying about how I’m going to release the whole of the ‘Slippers & Chains’ series. Obviously it would have been to Breathless Press’ schedule before, but now it’s on mine. I need to take my time and pace them out so there aren’t huge gaps in between each release. I think six months is a good gap, right? Right? o.O
In other news, have you been following the twory on Twitter? If you’re unfamiliar with the word, I’m talking about the story Ileandra and I have been telling 140 characters at a time, one post a day. It’s our usual style – when you stick us in the same room – silly with a bit of rib-jabbing, but with a core story that outlines what we’re both going to be doing when our current projects are over.
If you haven’t seen it yet there are three more days to go before the tale ends. You can find it by visiting @ileandraXraven on Twitter and checking all posts this month at 10:30am. Failing that . . . I’ll collate the story here when it’s over so you can read it in one yummy chunk.
Right, that’s my lot. Guess I’d better stick more of that lovely antibiotic ointment into my eyes and go lie down. -_- Ugh . . .
