#GoodThingsJar2013 November Update

my good things jar as of the end of November 2013HOW FREAKING AWESOME HAS NOVEMBER BEEN?!?!

NaNoWriMo 2013

No only did I manage to complete the 50,000 words that NaNoWriMo requires in record time (11 days!) but I also finished the damn novel. As in, got to last line, hit ‘return’ twice and then typed ‘The End.’ I’ve never done that before. EVER! And I did it with days to spare. *fans self* I deserve sooooooo many cookies for getting that done in good time. I’m so proud I could just bust.

And of course there are other wonderful things too.

Bo Burnham….

I’ve talked about him before – sorry if you’re sick of it, but I can’t help it – and saw him live in the middle of the month. IT WAS AMAAAAAAAAAAZING! The boy (he’s young, he’s a boy to me) is so talented and vibrant with everything he does. The lyrics are so full of life and a lot of the comedy is very physical too. No wonder he’s so damn skinny.
Anyway, that was freaking brilliant and he signed my book. Squee.

Huh. That seems to blow everything else out of the water. What else have I done this month. There must be a hell of lot more than that.

Zombies!!!

Ah yes, Zombie Earth. If you’ve not heard of that yet, visit this site. I was on the crew again and, thankfully, inside, because it rained all damn night. *shrugs* Great fun. Frightened the living hell out of the customers, to the point that many of them were screaming and fighting to get out the doors. One of the girls even fell flat on her face. Poor thing. Scraped her knees to all hell. 😦

Also small things like pleasant skating sessions, good meets with the Phoenix Writers and… best yet… an email from a fan of the blog (!!!) who goes to the same LARP I used to go to! Bless her, she’s a sweetheart and clearly into the LARP scene in a way that makes me yearn to go back. Not just to LARP in general, but to Herofest. THAT is my LARP and I miss it so much. *sniffle*

Guess I’d better do something about it, eh?

Well… meantime… I’ve been writing for ages so I’m giving myself a break. I’ll catch you all for the next post. ^_^ Hope your jars are as full of fun things as mine is!

About Ileandra Young

I'm a thirty-*mumbles* year old (purple loving, cheese worshipping) author of fantasy, juggling a pair of beautiful twin boys with my burning desire to make up stories and write them all down. When I get the chance, I play games, listen to music, and in days long past I even ran a radio show. Though I occasionally write non-fiction, my heart lives in fantasy and my debut novel, Silk Over Razor Blades is now available through Amazon along with part two of the trilogy, Walking The Razor's Edge.
