Its been a little while since I took part in Six Sentence Sunday; long enough that I feel the time has come to do so again.
So, this same is from the short story Owned that I wrote back in late November/early December. I figure I’ll get more of it up on the site shortly, but for now I’d like you to enjoy these six sentences.
Trillian and Rawen are facing thoughts of the future now that Rawen wears the donor collar of the Princess Glacya. Poor, poor things. *sniffle*
“One night before they take you away and, if you’re lucky, a month or two before you die.” He slumped against the ladder, helplessness sapping the strength from his limbs. “I’ll never see you again.”
“It was always a risk,” Rawen murmured, “we knew that when we came to Montsho; unclaimed men are always at risk.”
“You are claimed!”
“You know that doesn’t count.”
Anyway, that’s that. And of course, if you want to enjoy more six sentence snippets, hit the banner below to get a look at other writers who are part of the initiative. Trust me, its always worth a look!
