Mah Goals – wc 28/10

Yes… if you’re curious, that’s just what I happen to be listening to while writing this. This track and the rest of his album that I bought the other day. SO GOOD!

ANYWAY! I’ve had a lovely week. Yesterday was another brilliant run with the Dolly Rockit Rollers (we’re getting so good now!) and earlier in the week I learned that a story I wrote for my A-Z of Flash (and subsequently edited to DEATH) got short-listed in the Doris Gooderson short story competition. WHEEEEEEEEE! That made me so happy that I bounced for the rest of the day.

More than that, my boys were WONDERFUL at their Great-Nanna’s 80 birthday party dinner. They sat quietly at the table and ate all their food, quietly sipped their drinks and coloured (kinda) a set of colouring books. And they seemed to take daylight savings in their stride. All things considered, I’m lucky as hell and don’t want anything to change.

Yeah, hopefully not. Things are going very well right now. I plan to just enjoy it.
Create more detailed briefs for the rest of the ‘Meeting Each Other’ series
I did one of them. The rest I’m yet to write down properly, though I do have them sketched in my head. Does that count? o.O

Briefly outline short story for Phoenix Writers anthology
Sorted. Might even start writing it this week.

Complete two more transcripts
Three! BOOM! Yes… one of them was only 27 seconds, but it’s done. So nyah!

Finish messing with my flashcards for SORB and background information
Done. ^_^ I’m so happy with the outline now, I think I’m really going to get it this time. If not… let it go… I know….

Draft blog entry for Phoenix Writers
Took it a step further and wrote it. In fact, that ties in with the previous goal about SORB, so when that post goes live I’ll be sure to link to it here. I’d like you all to see it. 🙂

Well I’m not sure. This week is a little less heavy in terms of other non-writing stuff. So, theoretically, I should be able to get more done. But I also want to do some things related to fitness and flexibility to make skating a bit easier. Dunno where I’m going to fit it in, but we’ll see how we do. Insofar as writing goals, there are a couple of obvious ones.

  • Change up author profiles at Amazon and Smashwords to better reflect my personas (at the moment they are kinda filler profiles copied straight from here. Not good enough, in my opinion, so they need more work)
  • At least start draft of Phoenix short story
  • Get other ‘Meeting Each Other’ outlines out of my head and on paper
  • Complete two transcripts

Hmm. That’s quite a lot actually. I won’t be too upset if I don’t get too much of that done, though it would be nice if I could manage it. Let’s see how we do.

How are you guys getting on? Ready for November? Had a good October? Goals going well? Will you be doing NaNoWriMo? Be sure to look me up! ^_^

About Ileandra Young

I'm a thirty-*mumbles* year old (purple loving, cheese worshipping) author of fantasy, juggling a pair of beautiful twin boys with my burning desire to make up stories and write them all down. When I get the chance, I play games, listen to music, and in days long past I even ran a radio show. Though I occasionally write non-fiction, my heart lives in fantasy and my debut novel, Silk Over Razor Blades is now available through Amazon along with part two of the trilogy, Walking The Razor's Edge.

  1. You have been so busy! Well done…I enjoyed the song too! 🙂

I’m on track this week, doing odds and ends before I begin my own writing challenge for November. Not NaNo because I’m rewriting an existing novel, but I will be stepping up my word count, and knuckling down to get as much as I can done…new deadline in place. I so want to get it done and as good as I can make it…

Have a good productive week! Enjoy NaNo!
