I might be jumping the gun somewhat, but my 80 Post Challenge will be finishing up relatively soon. Well… I say that; I’m half way through now, but that still leaves another 34ish weeks. Ha, almost enough time to grow more babies!
Anyway… I still like challenges. I like doing different things and in one of my recent Twitterverse splurges I told the world ; ‘Want to write something… don’t know what. :(‘
The answer came through on my Facebook; ‘a short erotic story that includes a bright blue balloon, a ball of twine and three small figs.’
Right. Okay, well my first response to that, obviously was ‘you’re on!’ and I spent the next six days writing exactly that.
The piece has come out at just shy of 6,000 words and while it doesn’t actually include the words, as you can see from the sample above, it does have a happily ever after ending, which is unusual for my erotica. For some reason most of what I write in that regard ends up as sad, heart wrenching tales of lost love. o.O Sod knows why!
Anyway, the point is, I really enjoyed writing something with words as a trigger. So! So the next challenge is the 3 word challenge. Once a month I’ll put it out on Twitter and/or Facebook that I need
1) three random words
2) a genre
3) fiction type (mirco/flash/short)
And I’ll write something to fit those words. Mainly to see if I can do it, since, in my mind, it should have been easy to include all of the things on Celine’s list, but somehow, by the end of it, I just couldn’t put them in the story.
This piece of writing will come second to any projects I already have on the go, particularly if they are for a deadline, but I think that might be something nice and light to keep me ticking over if I end up in a dead spot like I did that day when I put the tweet out.
I think after this though, I probably won’t add any more challenges to this blog until I finish one or both of the others. 2012 is already looking incredibly busy!
So… there we are! That’s all my bonus blog posts done for the week. I hope you enjoyed the peak into my plans for the year ahead. More than that, I hope you’ll stick with me to see them through. It would be great to know you’re around in 365 days! ^_^
Normal scheduling to resume next week!
