Rescheduling

Hmm. I don’t know how I got to be the one who always does the ‘news’ posts, but this is more news. I suppose it’s appropriate since the Meeting Each Other Series is my brain child, but still….

‘Meeting Each Other: Vicki & Lara’ was due for release on 27 September 2013. Seems to me that there are still too many loose ends to tie up neatly to stick to that deadline. A shame, since that date is significant, but I’d rather put out a product that is the best it can be, slightly later than I wanted, than have it be rubbish on the date I wanted. Especially since I’ll be charging for it!

So…! The new release date for Vicki & Lara is 20 October 2013!

Don’t worry; I’ll still run the draw for the free copies on 27 September like I was intending to. If you want to be in with a chance to win a free copy come October, then please continue to comment. So far there are 13 names in the draw and more than a few of those are duplicates, giving folk a good chance to snap up a free copy.

In other news *snerk* the second story in the series, Clubbing Malcolm, is going swimmingly well. I look forward to sharing excerpts of that with you at a later date.

For now though, to take the sting out of my news, I’ve got a little treat for you. Scroll down to enjoy some pretty pieces of quote art from the upcoming ‘Vicki & Lara’ story.

I think you’ve made entirely the right decision. You should never put out something you’re not completely happy with just to meet a deadline. It’s bad enough that publishers put these schedules on writers, without doing it to yourself for self-pub. The joy of self-pub is its flexibility, and the fact that you can do everything right by you. Giving yourself that extra month is fairer for you and fairer for your readers. It might feel sucky to push it back, but in the grand scheme of things it’s not that big a difference.
