July Has Been Great
I didn’t think I could top the months so far, but right at the end of July I attended two fantastic events that will cast a bright light far on into the rest of the year.
Culture and Cinema
The first of the mammoth events of the month, was an encore screening of Macbeth, starring Kenneth Branagh! For those of you who have been following this blog for a while, you’ll know that I have an unhealthy crush on the man. Those of you who are new… well, you’ll catch up. 😉
I saw the play via the local cinema which screened a stream from the live show in Manchester, which took place on 20 July. The only thing better would have been sitting in the gutted church they used. The fight scenes took place in mud and rain and the audience lined the stage close enough to reach out and touch. Touch! I was reading reviews a while ago and one woman got a faceful of spit from Ken. ^_^ She excused him because he was in the middle of a passionate speech, but if it had been me…? I doubt I’d ever be able to wash my face again.
Being A Kid Again
The second awesome thing – and I make NO excuses for this – took place the very next day. A visit, on a whim to the local park in which Cbeebies was holding what seems to be their annual Big Day Out. The boys got to watch RastaMouse live on stage, see one of the Cbeebies presenters (Alex, I believe) and, best yet, Mr Bloom! I haven’t talked much about this chap yet (that’s actually tomorrow’s post), but until then, I’ll just say that I’ve taken especial care to tell Dave how much he means to me since then, because my lingering reaction to seeing that chap on stage was almost just plain indecent.
Looking Ahead!
It’s the first of August and already have some wonderful things to add to the Jar like upcoming visits from my mum and sister and the Caribbean Carnival which takes place on Saturday. All being well, I should have some pictures of that. If you’re good, I’ll even share them.
I’ll be back in a month to check in and give you highlights from my latest amazing 31 days. 😀
I have a jar, too! Mine has a few good things in it also! Yay for our jars filling up!

Great feeling isn’t it? When I have a low day, I just tip it out and flick through some of the fantastic things that’s happened to me this year. It’s a really soothing exercise.

Wooo, good on you!
I promise, it’s such a fun exercise. And you never realise just how many ‘good things’ happen until you make yourself write them all down. 🙂
Enjoy!

I’m actually saving ours until New Years. But after the events of the last few weeks, maybe I should tip the damn thing over. Hmmm.

No reason you can’t pop it all back in when you’ve had a look.
That’s what I do.
