Six Sentence Sunday 26/08 #29

In line with the new schedule going forward Six Sentence Sunday is still a part of this blog.

I don’t know if you’re aware, but the Six Sunday site will be closing down in January 2013. The sheer weight of authors interested in sharing their words and the subsequent work involved has made it impossible for the organisers to continue longer than that. Its a real shame, but one can understand. Six Sunday has become so popular (even since I found it) that I can’t be surprised that its become too much.

So… I’m taking advantage as best I can to share as many six sentence snippets with the other regular contributors before it all closes down.

Keeping in line with my A-Z of Flash Fiction, today we’re on the letter ‘T.’ The trigger word for this is ‘tango‘ and features a mother and her daughter planting a tree in the forest. With some very special plant food.

~Carol unloads the last of her provisions….

A smile touched Carol’s lips as she saw the sack move slightly, lumps and bumps shifting beneath it. She grabbed the neck of the sack and held it up, applying her foot to the nearest bump with a swift kick. She ignored the low groan that answered the gesture and heaved the rope over her shoulder, dragging the sack across the soft earth back towards her hole.

She reached it just as Tammy returned, slurping noisily from her can.

“Drink it properly, sweetie.” Carol admonished tugging the sack up to the lip of the hole.

Thanks everyone! I’ll check you all next week for another six sentences. Meanwhile, don’t forget to check out what everyone else is doing. The selection is pretty good!

About Ileandra Young

I'm a thirty-*mumbles* year old (purple loving, cheese worshipping) author of fantasy, juggling a pair of beautiful twin boys with my burning desire to make up stories and write them all down. When I get the chance, I play games, listen to music, and in days long past I even ran a radio show. Though I occasionally write non-fiction, my heart lives in fantasy and my debut novel, Silk Over Razor Blades is now available through Amazon along with part two of the trilogy, Walking The Razor's Edge.
