So this is one of those little posts that I just have to put out there because my glee-meter might explode if I don’t.
I had an urge at the weekend. An urge which resulted in me telling Dave that I wanted to buy something for the babies. Even if it was small. I didn’t even really care what it was so long as it was something for them and not for me. Something I had bought. That part was and is really important to me.
So we mooched around town for a while and did every except that, until it was almost time to go home. And when I reminded him, Dave suggested Marks and Spencers.
I’d never considered them before, but they were right across the street from where we were sitting and I was in a good enough mood to forgive my usual distrust of their prices. Besides, you get the quality in exchange, don’t you?
So we went in, headed straight for the back and after some discussion, this is what I bought:I’ve pretty much been staring at them ever since. Occasionally stroking the fabric and whispering ‘Baaaabies….!’ like a demented freak.
I’m bloody glad my maternity leave starts soon; I’m not sure how much more I can cope with. It seems now that I’ve got the bug and, if I’m not careful, the guys at work this week are going to go slightly nuts trying to block out my baby-brained babbling.
In advance, guys, I apologise. I really, really do.
I love your enthusiasm and excitement. I remember when I was pregnant and wanting to buy something that I loved for the baby. I bought Disney crib sheets.
Have a wonderful day!

Oooo Disney!
Never thought of that. Heh, that may well be the next thing I look into. Now I’m kinda leaning towards ‘Winnie The Pooh Baby…’

I’m intrigued by the pink one. If you have girls, you’ll be torn as to whether they’re allowed to wear it or not!

Lol, you make it sound like I have a vendetta against the colour!
Its not that I have a problem with pink in of itself, I just feel strongly that PINK shouldn’t be pasted all over GIRLS and BLUE shouldn’t be pasted all over BOYS.
To be honest, they can wear whatever fits and is clean when the time comes, but some many people have this fixation of gender=colour that I get really agitated.
Its one of the big reasons behind not finding out the sex; I can’t keep secrets and this way I don’t get reams and reams of one boring colour as gifts.

Ah, fair play. My sister dressed her daughter in pretty much any colour going, but when they were in the hospital (a longer stay than most) she liked to co-ordinate with her own nighties. I think to some extent it was so that baby niece was easily identifiable when the babies were all wheeled back out into the baby room.

Heh, that’s a good trick. I figure if my pair need a hospital stay, I’ll just have the colours so crazy bright that they couldn’t possibly belong to anybody else but me! :p

Hi Illy,
You’re going to need more than that with twins!
Love the colours, though. Can’t wait to see any boys in pink! But I predict your babies will be beautiful whatever they wear.
M&S always good value, I have nearly 12 years experience of parenting to confirm this.

Heh, despite what I just said to Sally, boys in pink would make me laugh. I don’t know why.
Even at work when the boss wears his pink shirt I have to stop and stare for a moment. It does suit him though.
So does his purple one… and his pink & purple one.

I SO get this! And the little onsies are a great choice. You will get your money’s worth!
My kids were four years apart, so we had a few hand-me-downs tucked away, but when we were in Hawaii buying a little aloha shirt for my son, I remember buying a tiny Aloha shirt for our soon-to-arrive baby at the same time. I swear I don’t usually do this, Ileandra, but your posts strike so close to home for me, and motherhood is one of the best things I ever did, so I want to tell you about a post on my blog titled The Secret Object I Keep Hidden in My Underwear Drawer that is relevant to your blog today.
I’m loving your blog!

Hidden in your underwear drawer?!
Well I know what sorts of things I keep hidden away amongst my underwear, but I guess we’re talking about different things. :p
